Guidelines for business incubators and
science parks collaborate in combat of Climate Change
The Program Go Green Incubator provides some
guidelines for business incubators and research parks collaborate in combating
climate change:
1 - Develop construction projects, renovation and
expansion considering aspects related to environmental sustainability and
observation of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED);
2 - Choose providers of services and materials environmentally
and socially responsible;
3 - Reduce consumption of disposable tableware (cups,
plates, cutlery);
4 - Invest in solar panels;
5 - Develop initiatives that contribute in reducing
energy consumption;
6 - Promote the use of natural lighting and
ventilation;
7 - Provide special support for the creation of clean
technology companies;
8 - Hold events to share knowledge on clean technology
and business opportunities in the Green Economy;
9 - Presents a contract with company for solid waste selective
collection;
10 - Collaborate in the development of technologies,
products and services to the incubated companies;
11 - Working with the sewage and sanitation agencies
to ensure appropriate treatment;
12 - Establish partnerships with organizations that would
guide more environmentally sustainable operations;
13 - Review organization’s processes in order to
promote a lower environmental impact of the organization;
14 - Participate in the creation of funds that may
assist in the development of clean technologies;
15 - Develop measures to offset the generation of
carbon - Carbon Neutral measures;
16 - Monitor the results of sustainable management;
17 - Encourage the adoption of vegetarian meals;
18 - Develop various actions of education on
sustainability;
19 - Share successful experiences on sustainability;
20 - Invest in internal communication on environmental
sustainability: posters, newsletters, e-mails, stickers and other medias.
